A conference of Asian Natural Therapists took place on the 27th & 28th July 2005 in Karachi Pakistan, where the College of Naturopathic Medicine based in UK & Ireland were invited to participate.

Hamdard Al-Majeed College of Eastern Medicine (HACEM) is the only institute of eastern medicine in Pakistan awarding the degree of Bachelor of Eastern Medicine and Surgery (B.E.M.S. Unani). The College, supported by the research program of Dr. HMI Institute of Pharmacology and Herbal Medicine, has recently established the Shifa-ul-Mulk Memorial hospital of Eastern Medicine for the clinical training of the students. The 50 -bed hospital works round the clock and provides free of charge medical services to all the patients.

Dr Nadeem Iqbal, International Affairs Manager at CNM, attended the event where CNM were elected Vice President of their new association for the Promotion of Natural Therapies in Asia.

CNM have been working with Hamard to arrange study and training tours, which will allow them to send their best herbal training students to the university. This will offer students an opportunity to increase their knowledge and conduct research in the universities research laboratories.

CNM currently offer courses in Naturopathic Medicine and Nutrition in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and London as well as Belfast, Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Cork.

This venture, with Hamard University, is only the beginning; CNM are also looking to participate in other countries and are currently researching Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bahrain, Nigeria and India.

For further information on the courses offered by CNM please contact the head office on 00 44 (0)1342 410505 or visit www.naturopathy-uk.com.
