WEB SITE FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

WEB SITE USER ACCOUNTS

In order to access all areas of the site, including CNM Course Study materials and the Student Forum, you need to create a new account.

Creating a New Account
You'll find the Account Request menu link on the left-hand Main Menu of all pages of the site.  Click the link and you're presented with the Account Request form.  Complete the form, click the Submit button, and we'll email you your username and password within 1 working day.

Lost Passwords
Locate the Login Form under the Main Menu and click Forgotten your password? - complete the form and you will receive a new password.

Account Details
Once logged in, use the Your Details link in the User Menu to update your username, password, and email address.

Logging in to the Site

Once you have your account verification email, go to www.cnmstudent.com, locate the Login Form below the Main Menu of all pages of the site, enter your username and password, and click the Login button - you'll be logged in and will be able to access all areas of the Web site.

Problems Logging In
If you can't log in, here are some of the common issues that may cause the problem:

Cookies
Your browser must be configured to accept cookies.  The site uses cookies to log you in and keep your browsing session open - a cookie is a small text file the site downloads onto your computer that allows the site to 'know who you are' and allow you access to the site.  No personal information is collected other than your username, password and IP address - it's simply a way to log you into the site. Learn more about cookies here.

Firewalls, Antivirus, and AntiSpyware Programs
Some network environments will prevent you from logging in to unauthorised Web sites - they use a firewall to control Internet access to and from the company network.  For example, many employers prevent employees from downloading cookies from any web site outside the company's domain - so if you're having problems logging in to the site from work, chances are this is the cause of the issue.  Unless you're very friendly with your IT department, chances are you will not be able to access the CNM site from work if they have rules of this sort in place.

In addition, antivirus and antispyware programs installed on your PC (and/or at firewall level) may block cookies from all or selected sites.  And many home users, especially ADSL (Broadband) users, have their own firewall at home, with similar issues as above.

If you're having problems logging in to the site, contact , or call 01342 410 505 and ask for the Web Programme Manager; we will try to diagnose the issue and will work with you to assist where possible.  The bottom line is you need to be able to download a cookie to log into the site.

CNM COURSE STUDY MATERIALS - DOCUMENT DOWNLOADS

The CNM Student Resource Centre Web site deploys a document management utility that allows students to download course study materials.  You must have a valid username and password - only logged-in users can access CNM course study documents.  The links are available in the Main Menu once you've logged in.

Please review the following information to learn about how the documents are organized - the hierarchy is the same as a file cabinet.  More material will be added as it becomes available.

IMPORTANT!
Many of the documents available on this site are in Adobe PDF format, and require Adobe Reader to read and work with.  Please download and install it if you haven't done so already - it's free!

STUDENT FORUM

The Student Forum is available to logged-in users, and is accessed via the Student Forum link on the site menu.  The Forum is organised by Course, with separate sections for each of the Colleges for general chat and information exchange.  One of the most valuable features of the Forum is the ability to subscribe to a topic and get email notification each time a new post is made - just look for the :: Subscribe to this topic :: link at the bottom of the topic you're interested in - you may also choose to unsubscribe to a topic once the thread has finished.

CLINICS REGISTER

The Clinics Register displays all the current clinics, and is accessed via the Clinics Register link on the site Main Menu.  Each listing contains the clinic contact and booking information.

There are many other areas of the site containing useful information; please use the Main Menu links to explore the site and the resources on offer.
